While in high school I partnered with a buddy to own a mobile disco DJ business. That was a lot of fun for over four years. But my first true business was a Fina Gas Station. I had just graduated from high school, and I did not want to go to college or the military. I wanted to own my own business. So, I took out a loan with the help of my cousin who worked in banking and bought the gas station. I knew a lot about repairing cars and rebuilding engines but nothing about operating a business. My cousin Irma took me by the hand and taught me the books, P&Ls and the importance of margins in running a successful business. I learned quickly that the back office was far more detailed that just turning a wrench. My first business was a total success. There was something sweet about telling my friends I own my own business right out of high school.

Since then, I have owned and managed many businesses and even took time to work for big corporations. The first big business I revamped was a cowboy boot manufacturing company (Larry Mahan) changing their inventory process by cutting their down time from over a week to just a couple of days and improving accuracy 100%. 

When moving to Arizona, I partnered and expanded a tiny single owner business growing it to 5 therapy center locations and 15 employees. A few years later I was GM of several Wellness Clinics. During the crash of 2007-2008 I revamped several auto repair shops to improve service and excel in business during difficult times.

Here is a list of some of the committees, non-profits and businesses I have owned, managed, revamped or served in. Financial services, construction and remodeling, restaurants, fitness training, physical therapy, complete wellness centers, business coaching, property investments, non-profit development, community services, city council advisory, host and planning of major events and many more.
